The Outreach and Education Committee provides professional development for organizations and individuals involved in land conservation in New Hampshire through workshops, trainings and forums for the exchange of ideas and information. The Committee supports education of the public on the values of private land conservation through publications, events and information sharing. The Outreach and Education Committee will accomplish this by:
-
Organizing and presenting professional development workshops on various timely and relevant topics;
-
Creating and maintaining a web site to facilitate communication and access to land conservation resources and information;
-
Assisting other organizations in education and outreach efforts as the need exists and resources allow.
Educational Opportunities
There are several recurring educational opportunities available to advance land conservation knowledge and practices. The dates and agendas change each year but can be found through the specific web sites.
NH Land Trust Coalition presents two workshops each year, one in the fall and one combined with the annual meeting in late winter.
Saving Special Places is New Hampshire's annual land conservation conference held each spring. The conference is coordinated by a committee of conservation groups and NHLTC and facilitated by UNH Cooperative Extension.
NH Association of Conservation Commissions has their annual meeting the first Saturday in November each year. There are many workshops that cover a range of conservation issues.
Land Trust Alliance – Rally This is a national conference focusing on all aspects of land conservation and land trust governance. The conference is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and to network with land conservation people from the region and across the country. The location moves to different regions each year.
